Cascade 2-1 Action Pacs (with DAWN)

On Friday the shopgirls hassled me and gave me a deadline of Monday morning (thus, I had ALL weekend) to finally post about the Cascade 2IN1 Action Pacs with the Power of DAWN that we received from a PR agent. A rep for Cascade wrote to the We Talk Shop feedback mail saying she would send us free samples (for each shopgirl) to try out. Right on we said! Right on!
I tried them first and have pictures to prove my efforts. I had let a cake dish crust over (before photo), put it in with a bunch of other nasty dishes, popped in one of the Cascade tablets into my Bosch dishwasher and waited for the results. Viola! The dish came our sparkling clean (after photo). Now, I have to admit, I am impressed with the Cascade tablet, but I love, love, love my dishwasher (that’s another post). I’ll have to let you decide if you think it was my dishwasher or the Cascade that did the trick.
What I do like about the tablets is that you don’t have to unwap the tablet before you pop it in the dishwasher. It’s individually sealed, but the entire thing goes in the washer and somehow evaporates with the washing. The package does instructions to not unwrap or punture the pouch, and to reseal the large bag after each use. Wonder if they dry up or something. I’m pretty lazy with stuff like ziplocking a bag. I’d rather just keep the bag open in the cabinet so I can just reach in and grab it.
OK, shopgirls, your turn.
Get it! I think they are about $3 something per bag of 20 pacs and you can find them anywhere.

I was really impressed with this product, we had nacho dip the other night and I put the dish in the dishwasher without rinsing. It came out spotless! There was no nacho residue, it was all gone - WOW, yes I will definitely purchase these again!

I’ve been a Cascade and Dawn customer for years. When is saw the new action pacs I wanted to try them, but I wasn’t in a hurry since I’m still using a 120-ounce box of Cascade powder that has lasted for months. It’s still half full.
Just like Phaedra said, the action pacs are impressive. After the first wash, my dishes were squeaky clean - only a rice pot still had water stains. Everything else was spotless. In a second wash, I had a glass bowl covered in brownie mix. There wasn’t a spot on that bowl or a bit of leftover brownie mix. And I don’t give my dishwasher any credit since it’s probably been in the house since it was built 14 years ago.
The bottom line is your big value box is going to last a lot longer than the action pacs, but to me the action pacs are cleaning better.

After I used my initial bag of action pacs, I didn’t want to buy a new bag, so I kept using my Cascade powder. The powder box was messy to use and it didn’t clean half as well as the action pacs - the brownie pan wasn’t even close to spotless.
So during a recent trip to the grocery store, I purchased a big bag ($7.99 if I recall correctly) of 50 action pacs. First time I used it, the brownie pain was spotless. I don’t care if they do cost $7.99; the ease of use and the clean dishes make it worth the money, but I’ll still be on the look out for coupons!
