pack1.gifKashi developer Jeff Grogg has threatened to eat cardboard if his new all natural (healthy) granola bars tasted like cardboard. Jeff, put the box down. I repeat, step away from the little white box.

Recently I posted that Kashi was offering to send a free granola bar for customers to try. I just received mine the other day much quicker than I expected. It was dinner time and I was hungry so I tore into it faster than a contestant in a hot-dog-eating competition.

And it was tasty. Not I’m-famished-anything-tastes-good tasty, but yummy-i’d-eat-that-again tasty. I’ve purchased a Kashi product before, one of the cereals, and I didn’t find it very tasty, so I’m glad to see the company bring it this time. But their products are health-driven, a plus for someone like me trying to stay on track with sparkpeople. One bar has 140 calories, so I wouldn’t have more than one a day, but what I did like about it was it was filling, and I wasn’t very hungry for dinner right away, so I could really use a snack to hold me over in the afternoon hours when my munchie tendencies are at their highest. One bar also has 6g of protein, 4g of fiber and only 0.5g of saturated fat.

Try it! This is a product worth trying and had Kashi not offered the free bar, I doubt I ever would’ve picked these up. You can still get a free bar from Kashi or look in the cracker/cookie or cereal aisle of your local grocery store chain. You can also order online. One box will probably be between $3 and $4 or you can buy in bulk from Kashi or Amazon.
