Product review: Yogi Breathe Deep

yogitea.pngI’m a snorer and my husband is always trying to find ways to alleviate the stress he goes through having to sleep next to me every night.

Recently a friend of ours passed along a packet of Yogi Breathe Deep Tea for me to try, he swore by it. I’m glad he did.

Yogi Breathe Deep “supports clear breathing,” and it certainly does that, however I’m not sure anymore than other teas I’ve had. I was suffering from some congestion and it cleared it right up, as far as my snoring is concerned my husband attested it did little to suppress that.

But what I loved about Yogi was that it tastes really good. I’m not a fan of licorice and was weary when I saw Organic Licorice Root in the ingredients, but the taste is so subtle and compliments the other organic ingredients in the tea that include: Eucalyptus Leaf, Basil Leaf, Ginger Root, Cinnamon Bark, Thyme Leaf, Elecampane Root, Peppermint Leaf, Cardamom Seed, Mullein Leaf, Natural Flavors.

Get it: I seriously look forward to this tea as a regular part of my evening. At $4-$5 for a box of 16 tea bags it’s a bit pricier than I want to pay so I can’t have it every evening, but it’s certainly a treat when I do.

Product review: SoBe lifewater

lifewater.jpgHad it not been for the BOGO CVS deal last week it’s unlikely I would’ve ever tried this product. Combined with SoBe’s BOGO Q, I was able to try four bottles for free. I bought two of the Strawberry Dragonfruit, one of the black and blue berry (which I really thought was going to be disgusting) and one Cherimoya Punch.

Unlike other water-flavored, vitamin-enhanced drinks I’ve tried, this by far surpasses them all in taste and flavor. SoBe’s lifewater is as refreshing as pure water but with a subtle flavor. With most drinks, it’s the flavor that has the greatest impact, but in the case of lifewater, the flavor is just along for the ride … and that’s a good thing. I’m on my last bottle and already trying to figure out how to work these into future scenarios so I can stock up the fridge.

Get it: Print two of the BOGO coupons from SoBe’s website and get to your local drugtore to try them yourself. Expect to pay around $1.59. Or buy a Sobe Lifewater Variety Pack – 12/20oz Bottles from Amazon.

Glaceau vitaminwater zero: Go-Go Mixed Berry

vitaminwater_edit.jpgI recently got a chance to try out Glaceau’s newest option, their zero-calorie flavored water called vitaminwater zero. And let me just say the flavor I tried, the Go-Go Mixed Berry, is definitely a no no.

I’m normally okay with the taste of artificial sweetener as a fan of Crystal Light for many years, along with a couple of diet soft drinks. But the flavor here of artificial sweetener is just over the top. I can’t even taste the berry and worst of all, this isn’t even artificial sweetener. vitaminwater zero is “naturally sweetened” with Stevia, Crystalline Fructose and Erythritol. I don’t know how much sweetener they’re putting in there but it’s overpowering the flavor of the “water.”

I bought two bottles of this flavor last week and after a couple of swigs I ended up pouring it out in my sink, washing out the bottle and making Crystal Light in the bottle instead.

If anyone has tried the other flavors let me know what you think?
