Cookware & Baking

I love kitchen gadgets and I love to grill – so when I saw this appliance, I knew that I had to have it – The Griddler.

griddler.jpgI am a huge fan of Cuisinart appliances, so I had high hopes for this early on and let me tell you it has not let me down.

It is the most versatile piece of kitchen equipment that I have.  I use it at least 4 times a week.   You can make pancakes, press sandwiches and grill chicken.  It makes an incredible grilled cheese sandwich and my son loves for me to grill his peanut butter and jelly sandwich (probably an acquired taste!).

I have some friends that own the George Forman Grill and when they saw me using this, they went and bought one for themselves.  The best part is that it is so easy to clean that you want to use it over and over again.  After every use, you simply pop-out the cooking plates.  Did I mention that it was easy to clean - I love this feature!

Another plus is that the grill also lays flat, so you can cook for a crowd.   Whether you are using the griddle or grill, you are going to find a ton of different uses for this appliance that you will always want to leave it out on the counter.  I actually moved the Kitchen aid blender to the cabinet to make room for this, that is how often I use it.This would be a great gift for a wedding or bridal shower or heck pick one up just for yourself and get grilling!

pasta-express.jpgDon’t you just love the commerical - cook pasta and vegetables in minutes with no mess!

I was over at a friends house last night and we saw the commerical for the Pasta Express - I mentioned that I wondered it if really worked - and well let’s just say that conversation was the inspiration for this entry.

Jamy was so excited when he saw the product at Target and thought let’s try it, after all it was on sale.

Now you have to realize that my friend Jamy is an extremely patient person, nothing gets him upset - but get him talking about this product and well let’s just say it is good that they were not that hungry the night they tried it. They followed the directions, by boiling water, placing the pasta in the container but after 4 failed attempts (I told you that he is patient), 2 boxes of pasta and 20 minutes later, they had undercooked, gummy, gross pasta. Thank goodness for leftovers!

Don’t waste your time on this one folks - it is not worth the $19.99. Thank goodness for Target’s excellent return policy.
